Intellica Intelligent Consistency Checker (ICC) is a data verification and validation solution developed and offered by Intellica.

ICC provides a robust and easy-to-use tool for verification and consistency of data distributed in multiple data sources,

particularly data warehouses.

ICC consists of a rule repository and applicable code templates, with various scheduling options. Main benefits of ICC are:

Consistency: Systematic data consistency checks as defined and scheduled by user.

Flexibility: ICC permits use of OS, PL/SQL, SQL or Groovy scripts in development of code templates

Better Use of Time: ICC avoids loss of time by duplicating rules belonging to templates already developed for similar operations

Scheduling: ICC Rule Engine can used as a plug-in in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and scheduled with ODI packages.

History: ICC logs the history of inconsistencies and enables reporting

Data Quality: Using the pre-defined business rules, ICC can detect and improve data quality.

ICC Code Templates

The ICC code templates are XML-based and can generate various scripts (as mentioned above) by its parameter settings.

These templates are developed once and integrated with the rules to generate a code, which is then run by the Engine in the predefined

environment.

The templates provide a flexible and standardized method to perform data verification and quality inspection.

The templates can be modified, extended or added as needed, with no change to the actual Engine source code.

The same verification analysis can be run on different data sets or multiple datamarts only by applying new rules.

Rule Repository

ICC offers an easy-to-use method for addition of new rules to the Rule Repository. The syntax is straightforward to enable use by business analysts.

All rule outputs are consolidated in a Data Quality Datamart, from where reports can be run, as needed and defined by the users. The Intellica ICC Rule Repository structure enables fast customization of rules for new data sets or datamarts, flexible and/or calculated thresholds, historical logging and trending of inconsistencies, and instant triggering of applicable workflows and actions, as defined by users.
